A-Lounge

크리스 로 (b. 1983)는 인쇄, 설치, 애니메이션, 글쓰기, 전통회화 및 드로잉 등 다양한 기법을 작업에 활용한다. 그의 작업은 주로 언어와 소통, 그리고 그 사이에 존재하는 비언어적 언어인 침묵을 탐구한다. 의미와 감정, 미묘한 기류 등을 시각적 언어로 표현하려 시도하며, 비가시적인 감각들을 시각적 리듬과 레이어로 전환하여 말해지지 않는 것과 전해지는 것 사이의 긴장을 드러낸다. 그의 작업은 우리가 서로를 이해하는 방식과 차이, 그리고 그 사이의 공백과 침묵이 품는 의미에 대해 사유하도록 이끈다.
크리스 로는 UC 버클리에서 건축을, 로드아일랜드 스쿨 오브 디자인(RISD)과 서울대학교에서 그래픽 디자인을 공부했다. 에이라운지, 서울(2023); d/p, 서울(2023)에서 개인전을 가졌으며, «사이의 리듬들», 성북구립 최만린미술관, 서울(2023); «타이포잔치», 문화역서울 284, 서울(2023); «새로운 시대의 항구», 인천국제공항, 인천(2022); «Venice Biennale: BIENNALE ARCHITETTURA 2021», 베니스, 이탈리아(2021); «We, Ourselves and Us», 웰트포맷, 루체른, 스위스(2021); «페이즈 II», MICA, 브론즈 갤러리, 볼티모어(2019) 등 국내외 주요 기관과 공간의 기획전에 참여했다. 그의 작품은 영국 빅토리아 앤 앨버트 박물관, 파리 데코라티프 뮤지엄, 뮌헨의 디 누에 삼룽, 국립한글박물관 등에 영구소장되어있다.
